Beechgrove - Funeral services for Mr. Gary Brent Foster, age 66, of Beechgrove, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Manchester Funeral Home with James Green speaking and Tommy Underwood, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Foster passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma, TN.
Brent was born in Tullahoma, TN, the son of the late Howard Finnus and Twila Leigh Howard Foster. He was a campground attendant at Tims Ford State Park for over 10 years and was a member of Noah Church of Christ. Brent enjoyed woodworking, machining, hiking all over America and other countries, shooting guns, riding motorcycles, studying history, fishing, hunting, boating, gardening, and music. He was a well-rounded man, who loved his pets. He hiked the Appalachians, the Rockies, the Grand Canyon, and Mexico. Brent served his country in the Marines, was in the Merchant Marines, and he worked and captained the supply boats that delivered to oil drilling sites in the Gulf of Mexico, and he captained a river boat on the Cumberland River in Nashville, TN for several years.
In addition to his parents, Brent was also preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Allen Foster. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Foster; one brother, Finnus Foster; three sisters, Melanie (Richard) Pierce, Michele Foster and Lauren Foster; nieces, Desiree (Jason) Pulley, Allison (Dillon) Burt, and Krystal Foster; nephews, Scott (Carlena) Pierce, Jesse Foster, and Warren Foster; nine great nieces and nephews; and several other extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
